James Wong and the Malaysian Garden
Ethnobotanist and garden designer, James Wong travels to Malaysia in search of inspiration for a Malaysian themed garden for the world famous Chelsea Flower Show. In 2009, James and his design partner David Cubero won a silver medal. In 2010, they are going all out for gold. The theme for their Chelsea garden is the Malaysian concept of 'kampung' a word which means 'village or community' but also 'traditional and natural'. James, whose Father is Malaysian, travels across the country meeting people who live a traditional kampung life in the midst of city skyscrapers and spending time with an indigenous community who show him how they use plants for medicine and ceremony. James also travels to Bako National Park in Sarawak to look for an elusive and protected pitcher plant that he thinks could be the star of his Chelsea garden. In the Cameron Highlands, he tries to understand a strange Malaysian obsession with the English country garden. Back in the UK, he faces the final and most daunting stage of the project - the build. He and his design partner, David, have just 20 days to pull together a garden that is not only good enough to get a Chelsea medal but will also do justice to the spirit of 'kampung' in a 21st century style.

Jesse Ventura and his team head to Alaska to investigate the purpose of the HAARP installation.

In a remote region of Alaska, a special government research center is said to be testing the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program, which, some believe, allows radio waves to be developed as a potential weapon. If true, these radio waves could be used to change the weather and control people's minds. Jesse and his team head to the Last Frontier to investigate, but nervous security guards try to stop them at the gate of the facility and keep them from finding the real purpose first-hand. The team also talks to a scientist who demonstrates how radio waves can be used to literally move clouds.

Featured Experts and Eyewitnesses include: Dr. Brooks Agnew, a physicist who believes he accidentally triggered an earthquake by using radio waves to locate underground oil; Dr. Roger Smith, director of the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, which coordinates research at the HAARP facility in Gakona, AK; Dr. Nick Begich, a native Alaskan and anti-HAARP activist; and Robert Eastlund, the son of Bernard Eastlund, whose ideas were allegedly the catalyst for the creation of HAARP.

Part 1: Dawn Chorus
In this first episode, he investigates how and why birds communicate, looking at the reasons snipe use their tail feathers to make a very distinctive noise and what's happening when thousands of starlings participate in stunning aerial displays in Aberystwyth.


Part 2: Feathering the Nest
In this episode, Iolo investigates the courtship and nesting behaviour of birds, including the amazing courtship display of great crested grebes at a reservoir near Pontypool, the impressive sky dance of hen harriers in the dramatic Cambrian Mountains, how nuthatch use mud like cement to prepare their nest in a woodland near Harlech, and why long-tailed tits near Newtown are exceptional nest builders. On the Lleyn Peninsula near Trefor, he looks at why one colony of shags nest earlier than any others in Wales, and in Pembrokeshire he finds out where house martins nested before they used our buildings. Iolo also looks at the variety of places birds like to nest, from little ringed plovers on shingle banks along the River Tywi to puffins underground on Skomer.


Part 3: Living on the Edge
Today, Iolo discovers the difficulties birds face in order to stay alive, and the programme includes a dramatic scene in which a sparrow hawk seizes the moment to attack a woodpigeon nest.


Part 4: Living with Us
